What readers thought of THE SAME SIDE OF THE MOON:
‘Original and intriguing – I absolutely loved this book. A feisty heroine, a walk-off-the-page historical setting, a romance and a twisty mystery – The Same Side of the Moon has it all.’ Christina Jones, award winning author
A great page turner that evokes the hardship of northern England in the late nineteenth century. Not only a romance but a detective mystery rolled into one. Very satisfying read! G.H. (included with reviewer’s permission )
This is an excellent first novel. It took me a little while to get into the story, but once I did I found it engrossing and unputdownable. At a simple level it is a fairly straightforward romance/detective story. But there is much more to it than this. It is a multilayered book. As well as the romance between two young people, it explores two individuals seeking to establish their own identities. Then it is about a young married couple trying to create a shared identity out of their separate parts. It explores nineteenth century tensions between the working and middle classes, the conflict between philanthropy and capitalist self-interest and exploitation of their workers and the inhuman treatment of the poor and the search for literacy. Historically the book is excellent and accurate. It describes a clear image of life in England at the start of the railway age. It examines the conflict between the Victorian obsession with self-help and Christian concern for others at a time when governments of different complexions believed in laissez-faire and disengagement. I highly recommend this book and look forward with eager anticipation to the next installment. G.D. (included with reviewer’s permission )
What readers thought of WRITTEN IN SILVER:
A WONDERFUL IMMERSIVE READ
I loved it! Written in Silver is a brilliant mix of historical fiction, mystery, and romance, set in a 19th-century mining community. What I enjoyed most was how real the day-to-day lives of ordinary working-class people felt—it’s such a refreshing change from historical novels that only focus on the upper classes. The struggles, resilience, and little everyday moments really pulled me in and made the world feel alive. The story itself is packed with intrigue, danger, and strong characters, and it kept me hooked right to the end. A fantastic sequel in the Silver Moon Mysteries series—definitely recommended for anyone who enjoys historical fiction with a gripping plot and great characters.
A GREAT READ

VERY ENJOYABLE READ combining thriller, romance and detection in the historical setting of a nineteenth-century mining community.
